Suzano Papel e Celulose SA's eucalyptus pulp sales are growing because of “strong” demand from China, O Estado de S. Paulo reported, citing Chief Executive Officer Antonio Maciel Neto.
Pulp shipments rose 12 percent in February from a year earlier, while sales of short-fiber and long-fiber pulp fell 7.4 percent and 14 percent, respectively, Maciel Neto told the newspaper in an interview. Demand may have picked up in China because of relatively low prices and to replenish depleted inventories, Estado reported, citing Maciel Neto.
